YouTuber accuses Elvish Yadav of attempting to break his spine and disable him; FIR registered

PTC News Desk: In a shocking turn of events, YouTuber Sagar Thakur, also known as 'Maxtern', has filed an FIR against social media influencer and Bigg Boss OTT 2 winner Elvish Yadav, alleging an attempt to break his spine and render him disabled. Thakur's claims stem from a video circulating on social media showing Yadav and his associates assaulting him.

According to Thakur, Yadav physically assaulted him, punching him in the face and striking his spine with a mobile phone. Additionally, he asserted that Yadav issued death threats both on and off camera. Despite clear indications of an attempt to murder, Thakur expressed dismay that the FIR was registered under bailable sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

In his FIR, Thakur called for urgent legal action against Yadav and emphasised the severity of the incident. He detailed the assault, stating that Yadav, accompanied by a group of intoxicated individuals, attacked him late at night on March 8, 2024. Thakur highlighted the need for a thorough investigation and requested a medical examination through police channels.

Taking to social media platform 'X', Thakur posted a video voicing his concerns over the handling of the case. He criticised the inclusion of bailable charges in the FIR and questioned potential influences from the Haryana government in the decision-making process. Thakur appealed to Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and Gurugram Police to amend the FIR with non-bailable charges for attempted murder and to apprehend Yadav promptly.

Expressing apprehensions about Yadav's influence on youth and the integrity of Indian laws, Thakur stressed the importance of holding Yadav accountable for his actions. He urged authorities to take decisive action, expressing concerns for his safety in the future. The incident has sparked widespread concern and calls for justice, with Thakur's supporters rallying behind him in seeking redressal for the alleged assault.

What Led to the Incident?

A social media feud erupted between Sagar Thakur and Elvish Yadav when the former mocked the Big Boss OTT 2 winner, labeling him a "hypocrite" after a photo surfaced of Yadav socialising with Bigg Boss champion Munawar Faruqui at a cricket match.

Yadav, known for his vocal support of Hindutva, faced backlash from his followers for associating with Faruqui, who had been arrested in 2021 for allegedly making derogatory remarks about Hindu deities.

Subsequently, the two individuals convened in Gurugram around 12:30 am, where an altercation occurred. Thakur later shared a video on social media around 2 am, alleging that he had been assaulted by Elvish Yadav and a group of 8–10 men. Another video surfaced showing Yadav and his associates entering a clothing store and purportedly attacking Thakur.
