Chandigarh, June 24: An RTI filed by transporter Sunny Dhillon has pointed towards a scam in the Transport Department during the previous tenure of the Congress government in Punjab involving then minister Amarinder Singh Raja Warring. Also Read | Indian national shot dead in US' Maryland, father says never wanted him to go abroad According to information revealed under the RTI Act, former Punjab Transport Minister Raja Warring allegedly looted Punjab’s exchequer of Rs 30,24 crore by getting the bodies of the state-run buses affixed from Rajasthan. As per RTI information, the previous Punjab government got the bodies of 840 government buses affixed from Rajasthan's Jaipur while on the other hand, Punjab and South Indian administrators would get the body of state- run buses affixed from Bhadaur. The RTI has further revealed that Hargobind Coach charges Rs 8.4 lakh per body bus coach while Gobind Coach charges Rs 8. 25 lakh for per bus coach. However, Raja Warring reportedly paid Rs 11.98 lakh per bus body in Rajasthan's Jaipur. An amount of Rs 1.5 crore was merely spent on diesel to ferry bus coaches from Rajasthan to Punjab.
