Farmers Protest: Women farmers hold ‘Kisan Sansad’ at Jantar Mantar in Delhi

As many as 200 women farmers from Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, and Haryana gathered at Jantar Mantar in Delhi for a ‘Kisan Sansad’ on Monday to protest against the farm laws. It was moderated by politician and speaker Subhasini Ali. The 'session' commenced with the singing of the National Anthem. Later, 'the House' observed a two-minute silence in the memory of the farmers who died during the eight-month agitation. She asserted that the farmers' protest against the farm laws will continue. “The government keeps calling farmers terrorists, Khalistanis, etc. but if they have the strength, then they should not eat the food produced by these terrorists and Khalistanis,” she added. As part of ‘Kisan Sansad’, which is a part of the farmers’ protest against farm laws, the farmers from the protest sites at Delhi borders have been gathering at Jantar Mantar while the Parliament’s Monsoon session is underway. Delhi government has granted special permission for the protest by a maximum of 200 farmers at Jantar Mantar till August 9. -PTC News
