Gurmeet Rahim's Ram 21-day furlough ends; returns to Sunaria jail
Chandigarh, February 28: The furlough of Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh will ends on Monday. Dera chief will be again behind the bars in Sunaria Jail. Prior to his return jail, a big gathering was organized in Dera Sacha Sauda in Sirsa to mark Gurgaddi Diwas.

A large number of Dera Supporters reportedly joined this program. While, on the other hand, in view of his return to jail, the police had made elaborate arrangements on Sunday, but Ram Rahim did not reach the jail till evening. Now on Monday afternoon, Gurmeet will be brought to the Sunaria Jail. Till this time, alert has been issued in Rohtak, Sirsa, and Gurugram.
Haryana government had approved 21-day parole of Ram Rahim in February. During this, the government had provided Z+ security to Ram Rahim, stating that there was a threat to his life from pro-khalistani groups. During furlough, Ram Rahim remained in his Gurugram ashram for most of the time, ending his furlough peacefully.
Ram Rahim will now be brought from Gurugram to Rohtak's Sunari Jail on Monday. Ram Rahim was sentenced on 25 August 2017 by the special CBI court in the case of sexual harassment of two sadhvis. Ram Rahim was sent to Sunaria jail after violence erupted in Panchkula. Since then he is in jail. After this he was also sentenced in the journalist Ramchandra Chhatrapati murder case.
Notably Ram Rahim has been out of jail a couple of time so far. On May 12 last year, the Dera chief was admitted to the hospital for treatment. During that time Ram Rahim got parole for 48 hours. He had visited his ailing mother in Gurugram. After this, on 3 June 2021, PGIMS was brought again for investigation. Also on June 6, he was admitted to Medanta Medicity in Gurugram for treatment.
