If anything happened to us, Indian govt will be responsible, say students stuck in Ukraine's Sumy

New Delhi, March 5: Amid the Russia-Ukraine war, at least 600 students are still stuck in Sumy, northeastern state of Ukraine. They have accused the Indian government of not doing enough for their safety. In a video, the Indian students said they had come to know that Russia had announced a ceasefire to open a corridor of the border of two cities, one of them was Mariupol which was 600 km from here. They said they had been hearing sounds of air jets, bombing, and street fights continuously. They waited for long for safe evacuation, but they could not stay here more. Risking lives, they had decided to move ahead, and if anything happened to us, the Indian government should be responsible." Notably, a seven-hour ceasefire has begun in Mariupol and Volnovakha cities of Ukraine to set up humanitarian corridors for the evacuation of civilians and delivery of food and medicines, said a media report. "Temporary ceasefire begins in Mariupol and Volnovakha to set up humanitarian corridors. The corridors will serve to evacuate civilians and deliver food and medicine to the cities that have been cut off from the world by Russian attackers," tweeted The Kyiv Independent, a Ukraine media outlet.
