IPL Mega Auction 2022: Avesh Khan becomes most expensive uncapped player
Bengaluru, February 12: India pacer Avesh Khan was acquired by Lucknow Super Giants for Rs 10 crore on day one of the Indian Premier League (IPL) mega auction on Saturday.
Avesh, who had a base price of Rs 20 lakh, was ultimately sold at Rs 10 crore to Lucknow, making him the most expensive uncapped player in the history of the grand tournament.
Meanwhile, India pacer Basil Thampi was sold to Mumbai Indians for Rs 30 lakh and Kartik Tyagi was acquired by SunRisers Hyderabad for Rs 4 crore. India wicketkeeper KS Bharat went to Delhi Capitals at Rs 2 crore and Anuj Rawat was picked up by the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for Rs 3.4 crore.
Punjab Kings spent Rs 60 lakh for Prabhsimran Singh. Sheldon Jackson, on the other hand, was sold to the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for Rs 60 lakh.
Earlier, Punjab Kings had purchased India all-rounder Shahrukh Khan for Rs 9 crore in the ongoing IPL mega auction.
KKR has signed pacer Shivam Mavi for Rs 7.25 crore. Pacer Deepak Chahar was acquired by the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for Rs 14 crore. T Natarajan was purchased by SunRisers Hyderabad for Rs 4 crore, while Umesh Yadav went unsold. The Delhi Capitals spent Rs 10.75 crore for Shardul Thakur.
Earlier, Sri Lanka spinner Wanindu Hasaranga was picked up by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for Rs 10.75 crore, India all-rounder Washington Sundar by SunRisers Hyderabad for Rs 8.75 crore and Australia all-rounder Mitchell Marsh went to Delhi Capitals for Rs 6.5 crore.

India opening batter Shikhar Dhawan was acquired by Punjab Kings for Rs 8.25 crore, while Spinner Ravichandran Ashwin was bought by Rajasthan Royals for Rs 5 crore and Australia Test captain Pat Cummins was taken by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for Rs 7.25 crore.
Proteas pacer Kagiso Rabada went to Punjab Kings for Rs 9.25 crore and Kiwi pacer Trent Boult was sold to Rajasthan Royals for Rs 8 crore, while Shreyas Iyer was picked up by KKR for Rs 12.25 crore.
India pacer Mohammed Shami was acquired by Gujarat Titans for Rs 6.25 crore, South Africa batter Faf du Plessis by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for Rs 7 crore, Lucknow Super Giants got Quinton de Kock for Rs 6.75 crore and Australia opening batter David Warner went to Delhi Capitals for Rs 6.25 crore.
