Kerala PFI: We are ‘shocked’ by news of our cadres joining ISIS
Cadres joining ISIS: Kerala PFI against extremist groups: The Kerala PFI (Popular Front of India), in an internal circular distributed among the PFI cadres, has expressed shock after members of its group have joined Islamic State.
The Kerala PFI claims that it had no idea of the developments of such activities that are a violation of their beliefs and teachings.
The circular was distributed on November 30th, 2017 and was issued by the national chairman of the organisation, E Aboobacker, so as to be read and discussed at the unit meetings, as per reports.
The circular said, "Though the number is not very significant this happened in violation of our organizational teachings and it is a matter of serious concern,"
E Aboobacker said, "Popular Front is an organization that identified the dangers inherent in ISIS in the early stage itself when news about the same started appearing in the media. Since then our organization has been instructing our members and the masses about the anti-religious and anti-national nature of IS."
PFI has raised an alarm to its members about the unacceptable activities of the ISIS and alerted that they need to avoid falling prey to the extremist group's agenda, Aboobacker added.
“Members must be extremely cautious about the mysterious groups, their brainwashing efforts and their attempts of infiltration and precaution have to be taken during social media interventions,” he said.
Lately, reports surfaced that at least 15 former members of PFI have joined ISIS in the past years.
