Hartalika Teej 2023: Date, timings, rituals, shubh muhrat of ‘Teeyan da tyohar’
Hartalika Teej 2023: Hartalika Teej is a Hindu festival celebrated by women in various parts of India, especially in the northern states, such as Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Bihar.
It is one of the propitious festival arrives each year on the Tritiya tithi during the Shukla Paksha in the sacred month of Shravan and falls on the third day of the first fortnight (Shukla Paksha) of the Hindu month of Bhadrapada, which usually corresponds to August or September in the Gregorian calendar every year.
The festival holds significant cultural and religious importance, primarily focusing on the devotion and prayers of married women for the well-being of their husbands and the happiness of their marital life.
Women often gather in groups to perform rituals associated with the festival. They create an idol of Goddess Parvati out of sand or clay and worship it with flowers, incense, and other offerings. The idol is then immersed in water as a symbolic gesture.
'Teeyan Da Tyohar; takes place during the monsoon season usually in August or September.
According to Drink Panchang, Hariyali Teej falls on August 19 this year.

1. Women wake up in the morning and observe a-day long fast as a mark of devotion
2. Women get dressed up dressed in new traditional attire with jewellery, accessories and items needed for the rituals
3. Many women create a small idol or image of Goddess Parvati out of clay or sand.
4. Women gather for a puja of Goddess Parvati. The puja usually takes place in the morning or evening.
5. Swinging on decorated swings is an integral part of the celebrations.
6. Application of Mehendi is also considered auspicious part of Teej 2023.
7. Women offer food to the moon by looking at it through a sieve and then break their fast with a meal.
8. People often gather with friends and family to celebrate. They share festive meals, exchange gifts, and enjoy traditional dance and music.
The Teej Puja involves several steps and rituals to honor Goddess Parvati and seek her blessings for marital happiness, well-being, and prosperity.
