He had brought the head of ninth Sikh master Guru Teg Bahadur, who was executed at Delhi on the orders of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb, to Anandpur Sahib, traveling a distance of 483 kilometres. He had cut the head of his own father and placed it where the head of Guru Teg Bahadur was found, to rescue guru’s severed head. To recognize his services, Guru Gobind Singh honoured him with title of “Rangreta Guru ke Beta.” -PTC NEWS
