Man and his daughter stand on railway tracks, saved lives of thousands A man and his nine-year-old daughter are superheroes for people as they saved thousands of lives by sitting on the railway tracks to avoid incoming trains going over faulty tracks. With their selfless act of courage, 39-year-old Swapan Debbarma and his 9 year old daughter prove that it is the right intent that really makes a difference. One June 15, Debbarama and his daughter were walking in Ambassa, 80 kilometres from Agartala. They noticed that heavy rains have caused landslides in the region and had damaged 1 kilometre of railway tracks in the region. They sat for two whole hours to warn any incoming train to halt or change tracks to avoid any major disaster, without caring for their own lives. When a train approached, they stood up and waved at the driver to stop it immediately. Debbarma told the sources that "As soon as we saw the train, I took off my shirt and waved, but it didn't stop. So we stood in the middle. Finally, the driver saw and stopped a few metres from us," -PTC News
