23-year-old NEET aspirant dies by suicide at her residence in Dehradun, leaves 'I love you mom, dad' note
PTC News Desk: A 23-year-old NEET aspirant allegedly died by suicide at her residence in Dehradun’s Chandrabani area on Tuesday morning, leaving an "I love you" note for her parents.
Riya Kumari Thapa, a daughter of a 1999 Kargil War veteran, was preparing for medical entrance examination as she reportedly had not cleared in first attempt.
The victim has been identified as Ria, who was preparing for medical entrance exam NEET and was reportedly under severe stress. A suicide note was recovered from the spot reportedly contained the words, “Mom and Dad, I love you,” along with expressions of disappointment and frustration over not being able to achieve success in her studies.
She reportedly had not cleared the medical examination in her first attempt.

Circle Officer (CO) Sadar Ankit Kandari said, “Yesterday morning, a tragic incident occurred. A report was received at the Patel Nagar police station that a 23-year-old girl named Ria committed suicide in Chandramani.
"In the investigation, it came to light that around 10.30am, when her mother was calling her for breakfast, she didn't open the door. Then her father was called, and when the door was opened, it was found that she had hanged herself.”
Police said further investigation into the incident is underway.
