ALERT! NHAI's deadline to update FASTag KYC ends today; How to do it last-minute

PTC News Desk: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has issued an important reminder to FASTag users: “Ensure your KYC (Know Your Customer) details are updated by February 29, 2024, or face the possibility of your account being deactivated or blacklisted."

NHAI has implemented the "One Vehicle, One FASTag" initiative to discourage the practice of using a single FASTag for multiple vehicles or associating multiple FASTags with a single vehicle. NHAI urges individuals to update their FASTag information before the deadline of February 29, 2024.

With only few hours left to update FASTag KYC all users must ensure that the KYC of their latest FASTag is complete. 

What is FASTag? Understanding & Significance 

FASTag is an electronic toll collection system designed to streamline toll payments on highways, offering a more efficient and convenient way to navigate toll plazas. The FASTag is affixed to a vehicle's windscreen and linked to a bank account or prepaid card. Utilizing RFID technology, the tag facilitates seamless toll payment as a vehicle equipped with FASTag approaches the toll booth. The scanner reads the tag, deducts the toll amount, and ensures a swift and cashless transaction.

How to update FASTag KYC? 

• Visit https://ihmcl.co.in/
• Log in using your registered mobile number
• Navigate to the My Profile section and access the KYC tab.
• Complete the necessary details, including address proof, and submit the information. Once done, the KYC page will display your updated KYC status.

How to Update FASTag KYC Offline? 

• Visit the branch of the bank that issued your FASTag.
• Fill out the KYC update form provided by the bank. Ensure you have copies of the required documents for reference.
• After submitting the form, the bank will verify the KYC details and update your FASTag accordingly.
• For any inquiries related to FASTag, you can contact NHAI representatives on the toll-free helpline at 1033.

Proof of Identity and Address (Any one of the following):
Passport
Voter's ID
Aadhar Card
Driver's License

How to check Fastag KYC Status?

•  Visit https://ihmcl.co.in/ and log in.
• After that enter your mobile number, OTP, and Captcha code and click the login option.
• Click on Fastag KYC status option 
• Enter your Vehicle Registration Number(VRN)/NETC FASTag ID and captcha.
• Click on the check status option.
• Now you can see your KYC status
