PTC Web Desk:  A shocking revelation has emerged in the case of a Bengaluru surgeon accused of murdering his wife, a dermatologist, after the police discovered a message he sent to his lover confessing to the crime. According to officials, Dr Mahendra Reddy, a general surgeon working at Victoria Hospital, allegedly messaged the woman he was romantically involved with soon after killing his wife, Dr Kruthika Reddy. The message, sent via a digital payment application, read: “I killed my wife for you.”

Investigators said the message was unearthed during the forensic analysis of Mahendra’s mobile phone. The woman, whose identity has not been disclosed, has been questioned, and her statement recorded by the police.

The chilling crime took place on April 21, when Mahendra allegedly administered an overdose of a powerful anesthetic drug, Propofol, to his wife at their home. He later rushed her to a nearby hospital, claiming she had suddenly fallen ill. Doctors declared Kruthika dead on arrival.

The Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) report confirmed the presence of Propofol in Kruthika’s organs, pointing to foul play. During a subsequent search of the couple’s home, the police recovered crucial evidence, including a cannula set, an injection tube, and other medical equipment.

Following the FSL report, Kruthika’s father lodged a formal complaint accusing his son-in-law of murder. The police arrested Mahendra on October 15, six months after the alleged crime.

Bengaluru Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh said, “The evidence so far clearly indicates the husband’s involvement. He brought his wife to the hospital but failed to disclose any incident that could have caused her condition. We have now learned she was injected with sedatives, proving malicious intent.”

Mahendra and Kruthika had tied the knot on May 26 last year. Both were employed at Victoria Hospital, where they were known as a young and promising medical couple before the relationship took a dark turn.
