Bihar: Police open fire at 'protesters', one killed, 2 injured
Bihar, July 26: Bihar police allegedly opened fire to disperse the mob who were protesting in Kathihar against the electricity department. At least one person was killed and two others were injured, according to reports.
Residents of a village close to Barsoi town in Kartihar gathered in front of the electricity department to voice their displeasure with the irregular electricity supply and higher power tariffs.
According to initial reports, the mob allegedly pelted stones at and vandalized the electricity department office, and police fired shots to disperse them. Reports also suggested that clashes broke out between protesters and the police.
The two injured were rushed to a nearby hospital and are receiving treatment.
