Heavy rain lashed Delhi and its neighboring areas of Noida and Ghaziabad during the early hours of Wednesday morning, leading to waterlogging in various parts of the city. The downpour was so intense that it significantly hampered visibility on the roads, causing disruptions in vehicular traffic.

The situation in Noida was particularly severe, prompting authorities to announce the closure of schools for the day due to the thunderstorm and heavy rainfall. Moreover, yesterday, some areas in Delhi NCR experienced moderate rainfall, and the continuous spell of precipitation resulted in a rise in the water level of the Hindon river, resulting in the flooding of numerous houses and roads in Greater Noida.

In Delhi, the Yamuna River remained a major concern as it continued to overflow, with the water level reaching 205.45 meters at 7 am on Tuesday morning. This level surpassed the danger mark of 205.33 meters, indicating the potential for further flooding. The previous day, the water level was recorded at 206.56 meters, exacerbating the situation and adding to the woes of the residents in the affected areas.
