Chandigarh police detains Punjabi singer Hardy Sandhu over permission row
PTC News Desk: Chandigarh police has detained Punjabi singer and actor Hardy Sandhu moments before his musical performance during a fashion show at Sector 34 exhibition ground in Chandigarh on Saturday.
The police took Sandhu to Sector 34 police station and asked him to show separate permission for live performance.
Reportedly upset over the detention, the singer left Chandigarh in a huff and returned to Mumbai without performing at the venue. According to the information, the police officials reached the spot just when Hardy Sandhu was scrutinizing sound checks for his performance at the fashion show, which was scheduled from 6:30 pm onwards.
The officials directed singer and organisers of the show to present permission for live show. The interrogation was likely to take place during the event only however as soon as the police arrived, massive crowd erupted prompting UT police to detain the singer. The matter escalated and reached senior police officials in no time.
After the organisers showed all the credible permissions required for the show, the singer was released from the police station.
According to the reports, Hardy Sandhu is likely to take up the matter with higher authorities citing his 'illigal detention'
