Delhi-Bagdodra Indigo flight makes emergency landing in Lucknow after bomb threat
PTC News Desk: A Bagdodra-bound Indigo flight from Delhi was forced to make emergency landing at Lucknow airport on Sunday morning following a bomb threat, police said.
Bomb disposal squads, security agencies and airport authorities immediately rushed to the spot and conducted a rigorous security check of the flight carrying 222 passengers, including eight infants, besides two pilots and five crew members.
According to the officials, Air Traffic Control (ATC) received a bomb threat alert for IndiGo flight 6E-6650 at around 8:46 am. Following standard security procedures, the flight was diverted and safely carried out an emergency landing at Lucknow airport at 9:17 am.
According to a statement released by the Lucknow Police Commissionerate, once the plane landed, it was moved to an isolation bay for safety.
During initial checks, police discovered a handwritten message on a tissue paper that read “Plane mein bomb” (bomb in the plane).
Authorities said that investigations are ongoing and appropriate legal action will be taken. They added that the law and order situation is stable and fully under control.
