Delhi gets two more districts as national capital's map redrawn after Cabinet's approval

PTC News Desk: In a major administrative overhaul, the Delhi Cabinet on Wednesday approved a new revenue map for the city, increasing the number of revenue districts from 11 to 13. Officials say the move is meant to fix years of confusion over jurisdiction, which often forced residents to run from one office to another for even basic services.

The government says the new setup will finally match the revenue district boundaries with those of the MCD, NDMC and Delhi Cantonment Board—bringing long-needed clarity to one of Delhi’s most complicated administrative systems.

Delhi’s Updated Map: More Districts and Subdivisions

The number of subdivisions has been raised from 33 to 39 so officers can manage smaller areas and make decisions faster. The number of Sub-Registrar Offices—important for property registration and land paperwork—has also been increased significantly from 22 to 39. Officials say this will reduce crowds, cut down repeated visits, and stop people from being sent to the wrong office.

Each district will now have a Mini Secretariat, which will act as a single-window service centre combining revenue, land, licensing, and coordination offices in one place. The government says this will greatly reduce the time and effort required for citizens to complete paperwork.
