Estranged husband hacks woman to death inside hostel, posts selfie with body
PTC Web Desk: A gruesome murder in Coimbatore has sparked widespread anger across Tamil Nadu, after a woman from Tirunelveli was hacked to death by her estranged husband inside a women’s hostel on Sunday.
The victim, identified as Sripriya, was employed at a private company in Coimbatore and had been living separately from her husband, Balamurugan. The police said Balamurugan reached the hostel on Sunday afternoon carrying a sickle hidden under his clothes. Soon after the couple began talking, a heated argument broke out.
In a shocking turn of events, Balamurugan allegedly pulled out the sickle and brutally attacked Sripriya, killing her on the spot. The police revealed that he later clicked a selfie with her body and uploaded it as his WhatsApp status, accusing her of betrayal.
Panic spread through the hostel as residents fled in fear during the attack. Balamurugan, however, remained at the location and waited for the police to arrive. He was immediately taken into custody and the weapon was seized. Initial inquiries suggest he suspected his wife of having an affair.
