Haryana Govt takes over Al-Falah University, senior IAS officer appointed as administrator
PTC News Desk: The Government of Haryana has taken control of Al-Falah University in Faridabad after an inquiry found several rule violations and irregularities in how the university was being run.
Senior IAS officer Amit Aggarwal has been appointed as the administrator and is now handling the university’s financial and administrative matters. The step has been taken to stabilise management while ensuring that the studies of around 1,700 students continue without disruption.
As part of the changes, officials from JC Bose University of Science and Technology have been brought in for key roles. Ajay Ranga has been made vice-chancellor, Rajeev Kumar Singh controller of examinations, Ravi Kumar Sharma chief finance and accounts officer, and Meha Sharma registrar.
Officials said teaching will continue as usual, with no changes to the current faculty.
The action follows an investigation that found violations of legal norms. It also comes amid increased scrutiny after people linked to the university were investigated in connection with the Red Fort blast.
Founded in 2013, the university has not yet received accreditation from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Authorities said earlier gaps in regulations allowed these issues to persist, and the intervention aims to improve governance while protecting students’ academic interests.
