Haryana grants women contractual employees 22 casual leaves annually, retains medical leave benefits
PTC Web Desk: The Haryana Government has announced an increase in the number of casual leaves for women employees working on contract under Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam Limited (HKRNL). According to a notification issued by Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi, women contractual staff will now be entitled to two casual leaves (CLs) per month, totaling 22 CLs annually.
Earlier, women employees were granted only 10 casual leaves in a year. The latest decision marks a more than twofold increase in the annual leave quota. These CLs will be in addition to the 10 days of medical leave already available to contractual women employees.
This directive will apply to all women staff deployed through HKRNL across various government departments. Haryana currently has around 1.28 lakh contractual employees, of which approximately 38,700 are women. These employees work alongside the state’s 2.7 lakh regular government employees.
The move has been widely welcomed as a step toward ensuring better work-life balance and improved conditions for women working in contractual roles.
