India slams Pakistan at UN over 'Fitna al Hindustan' narrative, calls it 'factory of hate'
PTC News Desk: India has sharply criticised Pakistan at the United Nations, accusing it of spreading state-sponsored misinformation by describing militant groups operating within its territory as “Fitna al Hindustan.” Addressing a UN Security Council meeting on Afghanistan, India's Permanent Representative to the UN, Parvathaneni Harish said Pakistan was attempting to shift responsibility and blame India for its internal security challenges.
Pakistan had previously classified several active militant organisations under the label “Fitna al Hindustan,” alleging they were backed by India, but did not provide evidence to support those claims.
Rejecting the allegations, Ambassador Harish said the terminology represented an official disinformation campaign. “Pakistan issuing notifications and directing its institutions to refer to groups within its own territory as ‘Fitna al Hindustan’ is nothing more than state-sponsored misinformation and disinformation wrapped in religious language,” he said.
According to the Indian envoy, the narrative is aimed at misleading both Pakistani citizens and the international community while perpetuating hostility towards India. He described it as part of an “organised factory of hate” designed to divert attention from Pakistan’s domestic political and economic challenges by focusing on an external enemy.
Harish also criticised Pakistan’s political system and the growing influence of its military establishment, arguing that recent constitutional changes reflected an increasing concentration of power in the hands of the military at the expense of civilian institutions.
