Indian Embassy in Ireland issues advisory amid rising racist attacks on Indian citizens
PTC Web Desk: Amid growing concerns over the safety of Indian nationals in Ireland, the Indian Embassy in Dublin has issued a precautionary advisory following multiple reports of physical assaults targeting members of the Indian community.
In a statement, the embassy acknowledged a recent spike in violent incidents involving Indian citizens and confirmed that it is actively coordinating with the Irish authorities to address the situation. “There has been an increase in the instances of physical attacks reported against Indian citizens in Ireland recently,” the embassy stated, urging Indian nationals to prioritise personal safety and avoid isolated areas, especially during late hours.

The advisory comes shortly after a disturbing account shared by Dr Santosh Yadav, an Indian-origin entrepreneur, who reported being the victim of a brutal racist attack. In a LinkedIn post that has since gone viral, Dr Yadav recounted being assaulted by a group of six teenagers near his residence. According to his statement, the attackers ambushed him from behind, smashed his glasses, and repeatedly struck him across the body, leaving him with serious injuries, including a fractured cheekbone.
Dr Yadav highlighted the increasing threat to minorities in Ireland, tagging the Indian Embassy in Dublin, the Ministry of External Affairs, and the Irish government in his post.
In a separate and equally alarming incident, another Indian man was reportedly assaulted and stripped by a group of individuals in Dublin. The attackers had accused him of inappropriate conduct near children—an allegation that Irish police later confirmed to be baseless.
In response to these incidents, the Indian Embassy has also released emergency contact details for Indian citizens residing or travelling in Ireland and emphasised the importance of staying vigilant.
