Ram Temple consecration: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav announced on Wednesday that he will not attend the consecration ceremony at Ayodhya's Ram temple on January 22.

“No, I will not go,” the RJD leader said.

He also stated that seat-sharing talks within the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) for the 2024 national elections were ongoing. "It would take some time before a final picture emerges," he said in response to questions about the delay in seat sharing.

Yadav, however, declined to comment on speculation of a schism between the RJD and its ally, the Janata Dal (United), or JD(U). Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is said to be dissatisfied with the delay in seat-sharing arrangements. Kumar has called for an early seat-sharing agreement, particularly in Bihar, which sends the third-most legislators (40) to Parliament.

The JD(U) is believed to be demanding 17 seats, insisting on receiving all of the seats it won in 2019 and leaving the rest for the RJD, Congress, and three Left parties.
