PTC News Desk: Veteran BJP leader Lal Krishna Advani has been admitted to Indraprastha Apollo Hospital in Delhi due to pulmonary problems, according to sources.
The 98-year-old leader was taken to the hospital in Jasola Vihar at around 7:30 pm on Friday. The hospital said he is receiving treatment and that an official update on his health would be issued soon.
Advani has served as BJP president several times and was India’s Deputy Prime Minister from 2002 to 2004. He played a key role in the BJP’s rise as a major national political party and has been an influential figure in Indian politics for decades.
His hospitalisation has prompted concern among political leaders across the country, with many wishing him a speedy recovery.
Union Health Minister JP Nadda also visited Advani at Apollo Hospital earlier in the day and enquired about his health. Nadda’s visit reflected the concern among BJP leaders over the veteran politician’s condition.
Advani continues to receive medical care, while his supporters and well-wishers are hoping for his speedy recovery. Reports that his condition is stable have provided some reassurance amid concerns over his hospitalisation.
