Major fire in Delhi building, six children among 16 rescued
Major fire in Delhi building: Sixteen people, including six children, were rescued after a fire broke out in a flat in central Delhi's Subzi Mandi area on Sunday, according to Delhi Fire Service officials.
A call about the blaze on the second floor of a building was received at around 7:40 a.m., and eight fire engines were pressed into service. "The concerned police station was also informed. We have rescued 16 people, including six children, seven women, and three men," said an official.
He stated that the rescue operation was difficult since an LPG gas cylinder exploded inside the flat.
The fire has been extinguished, and no significant injuries have been reported, according to the DFS.
"We have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire," a senior police official said.
