Following the allegation of the victim cabin crew staff, the case was registered on October 1 at Delhi's IGI Airport Police station.

The cabin crew stated in her complaint that she was working in the Economy class cabin when one of the passengers, identified as Abhinav Sharma, a resident of Jalandhar, Punjab, on Air India Flight AI 102, began making lewd remarks and harassing the passengers around him.

The alleged passenger gradually began going around and assaulting everyone. The cabin supervisor issued him an oral warning first, followed by a written warning.
