Man misbehaves, abuses Air India crew on New York-Delhi flight, booked
PTC News Desk: A man was booked for allegedly creating a ruckus and abusing the flight crew on an Air India flight, officials said on Thursday. The flight was en route to Delhi from New York.
According to officials, a case has been filed against a passenger who boarded an Air India flight for causing a commotion and using abusive language toward the female cabin crew.
Following the allegation of the victim cabin crew staff, the case was registered on October 1 at Delhi's IGI Airport Police station.
The cabin crew stated in her complaint that she was working in the Economy class cabin when one of the passengers, identified as Abhinav Sharma, a resident of Jalandhar, Punjab, on Air India Flight AI 102, began making lewd remarks and harassing the passengers around him.
The alleged passenger gradually began going around and assaulting everyone. The cabin supervisor issued him an oral warning first, followed by a written warning.
However, the crew had to restrain him afterwards because he continued to make racist remarks.
On October 1, Delhi police filed a case against the passenger at IGI Airport Police Station under sections 509 IPC and 22/23 of the Aircraft Act, and an investigation is ongoing.
