PTC News Desk: The Ministry of Home Affairs has issued a directive on Friday preventing any agency  from placing notorious gangster Anmol Bishnoi in physical.

According to NIA sources, order, issued under Section 303 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), will remain in effect for the next 12 months.

As a security precaution, authorities have ordered that no state police force will be allowed to take Anmol Bishnoi into custody. Any agency that needs to question him must do so only inside Tihar Jail.

The decision was taken due to serious security concerns linked to Bishnoi’s criminal network and the risk involved in moving him outside the jail. A similar restriction had earlier been imposed on his brother, Lawrence Bishnoi. The order ensures that Anmol remains lodged in Tihar Jail and can face multiple trials without the danger of being transported.

Anmol Bishnoi, one of India’s most wanted fugitives and the younger brother of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, was brought to New Delhi on November 19, 2025, after being deported from the United States. He was later taken into 11-day remand by the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

A resident of Fazilka in Punjab, Anmol is facing at least 31 criminal cases across the country. These include allegations related to the conspiracy to kill former Maharashtra minister and NCP leader Baba Siddique, the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala, and the firing incident outside Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s Bandra home. After his arrest, the US also issued a statement in November, praising its cooperation with Indian security agencies.

US embassy in India in a post on X said, “We appreciate our ongoing partnership with India’s security agencies as we work together to dismantle terror-associated networks and hold criminals accountable.”
