NIA court issues non-bailable warrant against Lashkar chief Hafiz Saeed in Pahalgam terror attack probe
PTC News Desk: A special National Investigation Agency (NIA) court in Jammu on Tuesday issued a non-bailable warrant against Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) chief Hafiz Saeed in connection with probe into the deadly Pahalgam Terror Attack.
Special Judge of the NIA Court passed the order, two days after the central agency filed supplementary chargesheet against Saeed in the Pahalgam terror attack case.
The order stated, “The instant application has been presented before this court by NIA Inspector Arun Sharma for issuance of non-bailable warrant U/S 75 of BNSS against absconding accused Hafiz Muhammad Saeed @ Hafiz Muhammad Sahib @ Hafiz Mohaddad Sayid @ Hafiz Mohammad @ Hafiz Muhammad Saeed @ Hafiz Mohammad Sayeed @ Hafiz Mohammad Sayed @ Mohammad Sayed @ Muhammad Saeed (A-8) involved in case RC No. 02/2025/NIA/JMU whose supplementary chargesheet has been filed in the court”.
The order further stated that Saeed was deliberately evading the arrest prompting issuance of non-bailable warrant against him to initiate proceedings in the matter and to take legal action against him at any further investigation.
Stating that arrest and custodial interrogation of the said accused are necessary for a “fair, complete and effective investigation”, the court issued non-bailable warrants against the accused.
