SAD chief Sukhbir Singh Badal's close aide Dalvir Singh Kala shot at in Punjab's Mansa
PTC News Desk: Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Kala Jabandha was shot at by an unidentified assailant in Punjab's Mansa district on Monday, police officials said.
Jabandha has previously served as the Shiromani Akali Dal's zone in-charge and as a Zila Parishad member. He is also known to be close to SAD chief and former Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal.
According to initial reports, Jabandha was at his shop in Bareta town when a man arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire. One bullet hit him in the abdomen, and he was immediately taken to a hospital for treatment.
Eyewitnesses said Jabandha was about to leave his grain market shop for home when the attacker stopped him, fired a shot, and fled the scene. A local resident, Gurjant Singh, said only one bullet was fired and that the attacker appeared to be in his 20s.
Punjab Police have started an investigation and are working to identify the shooter. Officials said CCTV footage from the area is being checked as part of the probe.
The reason behind the attack is still unknown.
