Operation Rahat: Indian Army's relief and restoration efforts in flood-hit Punjab, Himachal and J&K
The Indian Army's Western Command under 'Operation Rahat' has been engaged in massive relief and rescue operation for flood-affected people in various parts of Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir- the states where nature fury has claimed several lives and caused devastation.

"Each embrace reflects a bond of trust and hope," it added.
Over 13,000 citizens have received medical assistance, including emergency evacuation of critical cases.
The Indian Army is working in close coordination with NDRF, SDRF and civil administration to ensure timely supply of relief material. A flood control and water level monitoring cell has also been established at all the headquarters functioning round-the-clock to monitor water levels across major headworks, including Bhakra Nangal Dam, Ranjit Sagar Dam, and other critical points.
Punjab is battling one of the worst floods in decades, affecting 1500 villages as rivers are in spate after incessant rainfall, flooding all the 23 districts of the state.
There were significant livestock losses, and over 40 human lives were lost in the devastating flood.
