Pahalgam terror attack: NIA to file charge sheet in Jammu, confirms role of three LeT terrorists
PTC Web Desk: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is set to submit its charge sheet on Monday in connection with the Pahalgam Terror Attack that claimed the lives of 26 persons, the majority of them tourists, officials confirmed.
According to sources, the agency’s investigation has established the direct role of three Pakistan-based terrorists in carrying out the April 22 attack. The charge sheet will be filed before a special NIA court in Jammu.
Investigators have also identified two local individuals who allegedly assisted the attackers by arranging food, shelter and logistical support. These facilitators played a key role in helping the terrorists evade security forces in the aftermath of the strike, officials said.
The three terrorists, linked to the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), were eliminated in an encounter on July 28 during a security operation code-named ‘Operation Mahadev’. The gunfight took place on the outskirts of Srinagar.
NIA officials revealed that the militants had been hiding in the Dachigam-Harwan forest area since the Pahalgam attack, using the dense terrain to avoid detection until they were finally neutralised.
