Passengers stranded for 5 hours as Air India Express cancels Jaipur-Mumbai flight
PTC Web Desk: Passengers at Jaipur Airport faced significant inconvenience as Air India Express flight IX-1215 to Mumbai was abruptly cancelled after keeping passengers onboard for over five hours. The flight, scheduled to depart at 9:25 am, never took off due to technical issues. Eventually, at around 2.30 pm, the airline announced the cancellation, triggering protests from frustrated passengers.
All passengers had boarded the flight on time, but the aircraft remained on the runway due to unspecified technical difficulties. Despite repeated assurances from airline staff, no resolution was provided for hours. Finally, the flight was cancelled, leaving passengers stranded at Jaipur Airport.
Following the outcry, passengers were moved to the arrival area, where they were provided meals and offered an alternative flight scheduled for 6 pm. However, not all passengers could be accommodated on the new flight, causing further confusion and frustration.
Passengers criticised the airline industry’s growing inefficiencies, stating, “Indian airlines are becoming increasingly unreliable. Passengers are treated like cargo, which is completely unacceptable.”
Despite repeated attempts to get a response from Air India Express, the airline has not issued an official statement. Meanwhile, passengers continue to await confirmation regarding their rescheduled journey.
