PM Modi honours supreme sacrifice of 'Chote Sahibzadas' at NDA meet ahead of Vir Bal Diwas
PTC News Desk: Prime Minister Modi on Tuesday honoured the supreme sacrifice made by Gobind Singh Ji's sons -- Sahibzada Zorawar Singh and Sahibzada Fateh Singh. He vouched for awareness about their conviction to preserve their faith at all costs, which meant even sacrificing their own lives.
Speaking at the NDA parliamentary party meeting in the capital on Tuesday, the PM referred to the upcoming Vir Bal Diwas on December 26, a day dedicated to the commemoration of the sacrifice of the Sahibzadas, and called for it to be observed all over India.
Notably, the government had declared December 26 as Vir Bal Diwas in 2022 to commemorate the martyrdom of the Sahibzadas who were bricked alive by the Mughal faujdar of Sirhind, Wazir Khan, on December 26, 1704.
The younger sons of the tenth Sikh Guru remained unfazed of the threats by Mughal emperor Aurangzeb to convert to Islam.
