Pune Porsche crash: The parents of two software engineers who were killed in a car accident in Pune demanded that the Supreme Court monitor the investigation and trial in the case.

The families have also urged that the trial in the matter be held in Madhya Pradesh, where the victims were from, rather than Maharashtra.

Anish Awadhiya and Ashwini Koshta, both 24-year-old IT professionals from Madhya Pradesh, were killed on May 19 when a speeding Porsche, allegedly driven by a 17-year-old teenager, hit their motorcycle in Pune.

Ashwini hailed from Jabalpur, whereas Anish was from Birsinghpur Pali in Umaria.

Ashwini's father, Suresh Kumar Koshta said "The Supreme Court should monitor the investigation and trial in the case to ensure that we get justice." Given the gravity of the offence, he argued that the accused should be tried as an adult rather than a minor.

Koshta further claimed that the accused was drunk when he ran over his daughter and Anish.

Following the accident, the adolescent was brought before the Juvenile Justice Board, which granted him bail and asked him to submit a 300-word essay.

Following an outcry over quick bail and the police's review plea, the JJB remanded the teen, son of real estate developer Vishal Agarwal, to the observation home until June 5. Police have also apprehended the teenager's father.
