Punjab BJP chief Sunil Jakhar questions Indigo Airlines’ service over loose cushions on flight

PTC Web Desk: Punjab BJP president Sunil Jakhar has raised concerns over Indigo Airlines’ service after encountering loose seat cushions on his Chandigarh-Delhi flight. Sharing images of the faulty seats on social media platform X, Jakhar stated that when he informed the cabin crew, he was advised to file a complaint on the airline’s website.

Sunil Jakhar urged the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) to ensure that such negligence does not extend to safety standards, criticising the airline's casual approach.

This incident follows a similar complaint by Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who had to travel on a broken seat in an Air India flight. Chouhan had earlier posted on social media about the discomfort he faced on AI436 from Bhopal to Delhi, where he was assigned a defective seat despite prior warnings to the airline’s management.

Chouhan called it "unethical" to charge passengers the full fare while providing substandard seating. Following his complaint, Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu had ordered the DGCA to investigate and suggest corrective measures.

BJP leader Sunil Jakhar’s complaint now highlights similar issues in Indigo Airlines, raising broader concerns about airline service quality and passenger safety across major carriers in India.
