Samajwadi Party MP Akhilesh Yadav questions timing of Op Mahadev, hints political objective

PTC News Desk: Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday questioned the timing of Operation Mahadev, in which three terrorists linked to the Pahalgam attack were killed.

During his address on Tuesday in Lok Sabha, Akhilesh fused a political objective behind the killing of terrorists, viewing it as an attempt to fade the opposition's attack on the government over the deadly attack that killed 26 civilians.

"Why did the encounter happen only yesterday? If you are so well-versed with technology, why haven't you tracked the car used to transport RDX during the Pulwama attack?" the Kannauj MP said.

Earlier on Monday, as the debate over Pahalgam attack and India's subsequent response Operation Sindoor was going in the Parliament, the Armed forces neutralises three terrorists behind the April 22 carnage in an encounter.

The Samajwadi leader, however, adopted an aggressive tone as he raised the issue of "intelligence lapse" in the Pahalgam attack.

"Who will take responsibility for the intelligence lapse in the Pahalgam attack? The launch of Operation Sindoor after the attack was a symbol of the government's intelligence failure," he added further.

Akhilesh Yadav also said that on whose pressure the ceasefire with Pakistan was announced, especially at a time when Indian Armed forces had an upper hand during the hostilities.

When our Army could have taught a lesson to Pakistan, then the ceasefire was announced. What was the reason? We thought that the government would announce a ceasefire. But, it asked its friend (Donald Trump) to announce the ceasefire," he said.
