Shashi Tharoor's selfie with Union minister Piyush Goyal amid rift with party abuzz
PTC News Desk: Congress MP Shashi Tharoor's another appreciation post for PM Modi led government and selfie with Union Minister Piyush Goyal has once again brought attention over his speculations of rift with Congress party and fuelled a buzz over his future.
Thiruvananthapuram MP took to his social media and shared about his meeting with Britain’s Secretary of State for Business and Trade Jonathan Reynolds and Union minister Piyush Goyal. "Good to exchange words with Jonathan Reynolds, Britain's Secretary of State for Business and Trade, in the company of his Indian counterpart, Commerce and Industries Minister Piyush Goyal. The long-stalled FTA negotiations have been revived, which is most welcome," he said.

The meeting and the recent praise from the former UN diplomat-turned-politician for its political opponents did not go down well with Congress leadership. Earlier this month, Tharoor commended the Pinarayi Vijayan-led Left government in Kerala for its efforts in improving the ease of doing business and reducing bureaucratic hurdles.
The slew of developments come against the backdrop of Congress MP's claims of being sidelined in the party. Reportedly, during his meeting with Rahul Gandhi he also asked to specify his role in the party. In spite of his refusal to switch sides, four-time MP has warned the party that he has options if the party doesn't require his services.
