Shraddha Walkar's father dies of cardiac arrest; was awaiting to perform daughter's last rites
PTC News Desk: Shraddha Walkar's father Vikas Walkar passed away this morning due to heart attack. He took his last breath at his residence in Maharashtra’s Vasai, Palghar.
According to the reports, he was depressed and eagerly waiting to cremate her daughter's body, according to the officials.
Shraddha Walker was brutally murdered and several parts of her chopped body were found across the national capital. Her live-in partner Aaftab Poonawala who chopped Shraddha's body into 35 pieces, is currently lodged in jail.
Vikas lived with his son in Vasai where his health reportedly suddenly deteriorated in the early hours of Sunday. His son rushed him to the hospital where he was declared dead.
Shraddha's father had been fighting for justice for her daughter for over 2 years while awaiting to perform his daughter's last rites as Delhi police is yet to handover remains of her bones that were recovered in the Mehrauli forest to the family.
In his daughter's memory, he had established the Shraddha Walkar Charitable Trust last year. The organisation focuses on women's safety and provides pro bono legal aid to underprivileged families seeking justice
