PTC News Desk: Union Minister S Jaishankar and his wife, Kyoko S Jaishankar, are among the latest high-profile voters to receive notices from the Election Commission during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Delhi.

Several prominent personalities have reportedly received notices from the Election Commission (EC) under the electoral roll verification exercise. The list includes Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, New Delhi MP Bansuri Swaraj, former Delhi BJP president Virendra Kumar Sachdeva, senior BJP leader L. K. Advani, former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, former Indian cricketer VVS Laxman, actor Mahesh Babu, and filmmaker S. S. Rajamouli. Former Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi and his wife, along with CPM MP John Britas’s wife and son, have also received notices under the exercise.

CBI Director, former Army chief also receive notices

CBI Director Praveen Sood, his wife Vanita Sood and his mother Kamlesh Sood have also received notices. All three were classified as “unmapped with last SIR”.

Former Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi and his wife, Sunita Dwivedi, received notices under the same category. They are also registered voters in the New Delhi Assembly constituency.

The Election Commission cited different discrepancies in the notices issued to CPM MP John Britas’ wife, Sheba Britas, and their son, Anand Britas.

Sheba’s notice mentioned a “self-name mismatch”, while Anand’s notice cited a “parent-name mismatch”. The discrepancy in Anand’s record may be linked to the issue found in his mother’s electoral details.

Sheba and Anand are also registered voters in the New Delhi Assembly constituency.
