PTC News Desk: Ahead of Chief Minister's visit to Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), BJP leader Ravneet Singh Bittu on Saturday “gifted” a bottle of liquor to the CM outside Gate No. 8 of the university.

Ravneet Bittu while holding the bottle and tomatoes in his hands, said Mann should enjoy his alcohol and let AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal run the state from Delhi.

Fearing that the ruling party could stop him from speaking to the media by citing security concerns, Ravneet Bittu’s media team sent messages to journalists shortly before the Chief Minister arrived, asking them to cover the event.

Bittu also alleged that the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was trying to disrupt the BJP’s ‘Nasha Mukt Punjab Yatra’ by showing black flags. He demanded that such protests be stopped immediately and warned that if the ruling party created obstacles during the BJP’s yatra, it could face similar consequences.

When asked whether an FIR could be registered against him over his gesture, Bittu said he had not attacked anyone. He alleged that AAP leaders had attacked BJP workers on Friday.

Bittu said that if an FIR was registered against him, similar action should also be taken against AAP MLAs and leaders accused of attacking leaders of other political parties.

“I can also attack in a similar manner, but the BJP can never stoop so low,” Bittu said.

Ludhiana Police later detained Bittu and took him to an undisclosed location.
