PTC News Desk: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was given until August 10 to leave its Rouse Avenue party office, according to a ruling by the Supreme Court on Monday. The decision was made following the AAP's motion for an extension of the court-imposed June 15 deadline for property removal.

Judges Vikram Nath and Sandeep Mehta's vacation bench noted senior lawyer Abhishek Singhvi's submissions, who was representing the AAP and others, and extended the deadline until August 10.

"Considering facts and circumstances of the case, as the last opportunity, we extend the time granted by earlier order till August 10, 2024 on undertaking by the applicant within week from today before the registry that they will hand over peaceful possession of property," the court stated.

The AAP is requesting that the Centre grant it space for an office because it has been acknowledged as a national party.

The Delhi High Court was given the property for the purpose of extending its judicial infrastructure, and as a result, the top court on March 4 ordered the party to leave its office by June 15. The bench ordered the AAP to relinquish ownership of the 206 Rouse Avenue building by August 10 at the latest.
