PTC News Desk: The derogatory remarks by Ranveer Allahabadia had sparked massive outrage prompting a case against Youtuber and others. Despite Ranveer's apology, the matter over vulgar jokes is snowballing into a massive crisis.

The Parliament panel on Information Technology (I-T) is expected to issue a notice to Youtuber Ranveer Allahabadia over his derogatory remarks during an episode on India's Got Latent, a popular Youtube show after several MPs raised concerns and FIR against him.

The Parliamentary committee was actively considering sending a notice to Allahbadia to answer questions linked to the row.  Priyanka Chaturvedi, Rajya Sabha MP from Shiv Sena (UBT), has said she would raise the issue. "Any abusive language in the name of comedy content crosses limits is not acceptable . You get a platform, that doesn't mean that you will utter anything. He is someone with millions of subscribers, every political has sat in his podcast. PM has given him an award... As a member of standing committee of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, I will raise this issue," she said on X.

The controversy erupted after Ranveer asked a contestant on the show explicitly derogatory questions which sparked immediate backlash with many demanding stern actions against regulations on the content. The National Human Rights Commission, in a letter to the video streaming platform, asked for the removal of videos containing his remarks.

Later, the Youtuber took to his social media and posted a video while acknowledging that comedy is not his suit and also offered an apology.

Sharing a video, he said, "My comment wasn't just inappropriate, it wasn't even funny. Comedy is not my forte. I'm just here to say sorry. Many of you asked if this is how I wish to use my platform and, obviously, this is not how I wish to use it. I'm not going to give any context or justification or reasoning behind whatever happened."
