Two killed, several injured as dense fog triggers multi-vehicle collision on Delhi-Mumbai Expressway
PTC News Desk: At least two people were killed and several others injured in a series of road accident on Delhi-Mumbai Expressway near Haryana's Nuh district due to dense fog.
The most severe crash occurred near Raniyala Patakpur village, where low visibility led to a massive pile-up involving 10 to 12 vehicles and two trucks on the Mumbai Expressway.
The victims have been identified as Harish Kumar, a CISF Inspector, resident of Alwar's Ambedkar Nagar and Khalil, hailed from Jaipur. Other injured people were taken to nearby hospital and are currently undergoing treatment. The bodies of the deceased were taken into police custody and sent for post-mortem examination.
The accident occurred at around 5 in the morning
The traffic movement has returned to normal on the expressway, said the officials.
In a separate incident near Banarsi village, close to pillar number 45 on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, seven to eight vehicles collided due to fog. No injuries were reported, though several vehicles were damaged.
