UP tragic accident: Husk-laden truck overturns on Bolero, flattens SUV; driver killed
PTC Web Desk: In a A fatal road accident in Uttar Pradesh’s Rampur district, a truck loaded with husk overturned onto a moving Bolero on the Nainital National Highway (NH-74), killing the Bolero driver on the spot.
The incident took place on Sunday in the jurisdiction of the Ganj police station, near Pahadi Gate. Police officials said the truck lost balance while moving along the busy highway and toppled sideways, crushing the Bolero that was travelling alongside it. The impact left the vehicle mangled, giving the driver no chance of survival.
The words “Uttar Pradesh Government” were found written on the Bolero, prompting speculation about the vehicle’s ownership.
Following the accident, Rampur Superintendent of Police Vidyasagar Mishra, along with teams from nearby police stations, reached the spot. Rescue operations were carried out using a JCB machine to retrieve the body from the heavily damaged vehicle. After completing necessary legal procedures, the body was sent to the district hospital for post-mortem examination.
SP Mishra said immediate relief and rescue measures were initiated after the incident. He confirmed that only one person was present in the Bolero and no other person was found trapped under the overturned truck or husk sacks.
The SP stated that officials were verifying whether the vehicle was officially linked to the Uttar Pradesh government.
