Who will hold the reigns of national capital ? Oath invite out even as suspense over CM name persists

PTC News Desk: The suspense over the name of next Delhi Chief Minister persists even as the invite for the swearing-in ceremony is already out. The oath taking ceremony will be held on February 20 at iconic Ramlila Maidan. The ceremony will begin at 11 am. Lt Governor VK Saxena will administer the oath to office to CM-designate and the cabinet at 12.35 pm.

Eleven days after the BJP's victory, the saffron party will hold a legislative party meeting at the party's Delhi unit office to decide the new Chief Minister.

Frontrunners for Chief Minister

Among the names doing the rounds are Parvesh Verma, who defeated three-time MLA and AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal from New Delhi, former Leader of Opposition Vijender Gupta, Rekha Gupta, Ashish Sood, Satish Upadhyay and Jitender Mahajan.

Who all are invited ?

The guest list for much anticipated oath taking ceremony of Delhi Chief Minister who will be from BJP which defeated AAP and won assembly polls in national capital after 27 years focused on Aam Admi. The event which was said to be a star studded event will reportedly also witness the presence of gig workers, cab and auto rickshaw drivers, farmers, and chiefs of jhuggis, or slums.

The list of 'aam aadmi' invites, sources said, reflects the BJP's well-worn 'sabka saath, sabka vikas', or 'development with all, for all', pitch, and the desire for an 'inclusive' government in the city-state.

Amongst the political heavyweights, PM Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Ministers and NDA Chief Ministers-Deputy CMs will be in attendance.
