Witness in Twisha Sharma death case alleges assault by Samarth's 'friends'
PTC Web Desk: A witness linked to the Twisha Sharma death case has alleged that he was assaulted and threatened by a group of men believed to be associated with the victim’s husband, as the CBI continues its investigation into allegations of dowry harassment. Neeraj Dubey, who owns a beauty salon near the residence of Samarth Singh’s mother in Bhopal’s Katara Hills locality, claimed that he was attacked on May 30 by four to five men who questioned him about his involvement in the case.
A video of the alleged incident, which has surfaced online, reportedly shows Dubey being surrounded by several men in a busy market area during daylight hours. The men can be seen arguing with him before the situation turns violent. Some individuals in the group were allegedly carrying sticks.
Dubey said he became a witness after being included during the preparation of the panchnama in the investigation into Twisha Sharma’s death. He alleged that since then, he has been facing repeated intimidation and pressure. He also named one Sandeep Bhattacharya as being among those involved in the alleged assault.
According to Dubey, he filed a written complaint with the police after the incident, but claimed that no concrete action had been taken so far. However, he said police officials assured him that the matter was being looked into. The case falls under the jurisdiction of Katara Hills police station.
Meanwhile, the CBI has intensified its probe into the death of 33-year-old Twisha Sharma, who was found hanging at her matrimonial home in Bhopal on May 12. On Monday, investigators recreated the crime scene using a dummy and questioned Sharma’s husband Samarth Singh and his mother Giribala Singh to establish the sequence of events on the night of the incident.
Twisha’s family has accused her husband and in-laws of mentally and physically harassing her over dowry demands following her marriage in December 2025.
