Punjab civic polls: Punjab and Haryana HC orders EVM-based polls in four Punjab Municipal bodies on June 13
PTC News Desk: Punjab and Haryana High Court on Tuesday ordered EVM-based elections in upcoming four Punjab Municipal bodies.
The elections will be held on June 13 in Sham Chaurasi, Qadian, Gurdaspur and Dinanagar.
During the hearing, the Election Commission of India informed the court that EVMs had already been made available to the Punjab State Election Commission on May 22.
The Punjab State Election Commission also assured the court that the elections in all four municipal bodies would be conducted using EVMs.
Following this assurance from the State Election Commission, the High Court disposed of the petition.
