Patiala clash: Punjab government sets up SIT

Patiala, May 4: A Special Investigation Team has been constituted by the Punjab Government headed by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to probe the Patiala clash. SP of Patiala Detective Dr. Mehtab Singh will be the head of the SIT. Other members will include DSP City Krishan Kumar Panthe and besides him SHO Kotwali and in-charge CIA Patiala. Confirming this, police sources said that the SIT has been set up by the state government to expedite the probe. Many Sikh activists have criticized the arrest of Barjinder Singh Parwana as the alleged "mastermind" behind the attack, while others have come out in support of him.
