Police seizes 72kg of "Brown Sugar"
One of the teams seized three bags containing brown sugar in the early hours of November 11. The market value of the narcotics recovered was assessed to be over Rs 287 crore, police said.
Earlier, on October 30, police had seized 435.945 kg of suspected brown sugar, 438 litres of morphinated liquid and other items from Thobal Moijing Awang Leikai area in Thoubal district.
On October 22, Thoubal district police had also busted an illegal drugs factory and recovered around 41 kg of brown sugar worth Rs 164 crore at Lilong area in the district.
